Fall Beers at Two Blokes Brewing

In the South, fall rarely keeps a schedule. Some years it arrives with a cool front in October, and other years it is more of a feeling than a forecast. At Two Blokes Brewing in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, we found a reliable way to meet it halfway: a taproom with string lights and bunting overhead, a long wooden bar, and a tap list that leans into the season.

This is our guide to the fall pours we tasted, how to sample them all in one sitting, and what to know before you go.

The Fall Pours Worth Ordering

Four beers made the trip from tap to glass in our visit, each in a branded Two Blokes glass and each a different take on the season.

Bloktoberfest

The brewery’s annual Märzen is brewed to kick off Oktoberfest season, using imported German malts and hops. Expect a crisp, clean pour with notes of toasted bread, toffee and floral hops. It arrives in a glass mug, which feels right for the style.

Prost! In The Machine

This deep amber-red Altbier (5.4% ABV) is a nod to the roots of brewing. Altbier means “old-style,” and the name points to beers that predate bottom-fermenting lagers. It is crisp and light, yet robust and malty, so it is the one to order if you want fall in a glass without anything heavy.

Ümlaut

A golden Kölsch (5.1% ABV, 28 IBU) for anyone who wants something bright and easy to sip. Kölsch is the light, clean style that comes from Cologne, Germany, and it is the perfect counterweight to the darker pours on the list.

Spilt Milk

Poured on nitro, this milk stout (5.6% ABV, 25 IBU) is the cozy one. Big roasted barley flavor leads, with balanced sweetness behind it. The sweetness and body come from lactose, a sugar derived from milk.

Can't Choose? Order a Flight

If the tap list feels like too many good options, a flight settles it. Four small pours arrive together on a board, running from pale gold to deep amber, so you can taste the season side by side and find your favorite before committing to a full pint.

The setting makes lingering easy. Leather chairs and low tables make room for a group, barrels line the wall behind them, and the string lights and Oktoberfest-style bunting overhead keep the room feeling festive. It is a taproom built for settling in with friends.
