Sweet Southern Sangria

There’s nothing like a porch, a cool breeze off the water, and a glass of something sweet and cold in hand. This Sweet Southern Sangria pairs ripe peaches and fresh raspberries with High Wire Jimmy Red Bourbon, a Charleston-made spirit that gives it some Lowcountry pedigree.

Whether you’re hosting on King Street or winding down after the farmers market, this sangria comes together in minutes and tastes like it took all day.

Sweet Southern Sangria

Serves 6

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
  • 0.5 cups High Wire Jimmy Red Bourbon
  • 0.3 cups peach schnapps or peach liqueur
  • 0.5 cups fresh orange juice
  • 3 ripe peaches, sliced into wedges
  • 1.5 cups fresh raspberries
  • 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons honey or simple syrup
  • 6 fresh mint sprigs, for garnish
  • 1 cup chilled ginger ale or club soda

How to Make It

  1. Add the fruit. In a large pitcher, combine the peach wedges, raspberries, and lemon slices.
  2. Add the liquids. Pour in the white wine, High Wire Jimmy Red Bourbon, peach schnapps, orange juice, and honey. Stir well to dissolve the honey.
  3. Chill. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours so the fruit soaks up the wine.
  4. Serve. Add ice to the pitcher and top with chilled ginger ale. Pour into glasses, making sure each gets plenty of fruit, and garnish with fresh mint.

A Note From Southern Style & Design

This sangria is best enjoyed slow, on a porch, with people you love. Pair it with a cheese board or fresh oysters for the full Charleston effect.
